Blog58: Five Years Anniversary Coming Up!

So on November 14th 2010 it will be the 5th Anniversary of Blog58! Back in 2005 I opened up a small wordpress blog thinking it might be useful to post up some funny videos. Five years later this website serves up as a Portfolio, Resume, Recount of the stuff I find, games I like and shit I tweet and post pretty much anywhere on the web.

Blog58 really is my little house on this huge world that we all know as the  Internet Universe (or InterVerse). It has seen many important years of my life even though I made sure not to share too much. To those who read me on here I wish to thank you very much for your time, it is greatly appreciated and I feel privileged that you deem to take some time off to read the stuff I post on here.

I’ll make sure to post some crappy 5minutes image on the fifth anniversary. :)

So I “played” IBM’s CityOne…

You can “play” it too: http://www-01.ibm.com/software/solutions/soa/innov8/cityone/

When it was announced, people said it would be something like IBM’s Sim City but a serious and environmental one.

Well it’s far from anything like Sim City.

It’s a flash game, where you see a problem pop up, you click it and you have three barely understandable solutions. Thing is the solutions are so technical you don’t really understand and the issue text is gone so if you forget what you were fixing well that’s too bad. Each solutions costs a number of credits (I don’t know what you can do with your credits). The most expensive solution is not necessarily the best.

Overall here’s how the game is played: pick a category of problems, click on one problem, pick any of the three solutions, end the turn, repeat.

I’ve been wanting a good Sim City for a long time and this looks like this flash thing is far from it. Actually, it made me think it’s like a workshop or a training program for a CEO, you know like IBM’s Agile management system or something.
