Microsoft will deliver with a new Age of Empire and Flight Sim!
Aug 17th
Microsoft announced a new iteration in the Age of Empire series even though Ensemble is no more. Age of Empire Online will have coop and online stuffy stuff. Microsoft also announced a new Flight Simulator this time without Simulator so that’s just Microsoft Flight; probably to appeal to a wider audience. This is two potentially cool games coming…eventually!

Scott Pilgrim: a film for gamers.
Aug 16th
So I just saw Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and I must admit it is an amazing film! Finally our generation of gamers gets a film targeted right at us. Every detail of this film we get because we grew up with video games surrounding us. I sincerely hope there will be more of this kind. Hell it’s about time we get films targeted at us!
One thing though, if you’re not a gamer then don’t even bother; you will probably hate it since you won’t get most of what’s in there. Critics are saying just that anyways…
Racing Games: My Favorites
Aug 1st
Racing games are not the most common genre in the industry. The majority of gamers don’t really give a shit about them except a few people and the car enthusiasts. Today, for racing games to be cool for modern gamers, you need to be able to get out of your car and shoot people if not then they will say your game probably sucks donkey balls.
I, on the other hand, love racing games! I do not own a car, I do not watch the F1 Grand Prix nor NASCAR on TV and am no Gearhead/Petrolhead. I like cars, trucks and such and find it very cool to drive them really fast. Here are my favorite racing games and why I like them so much:
Colin McRae DiRT 2
What an amazing game! With its lucious environment, extremely well modeled cars and near-perfect sound you would think you’re watching a real rally race! If you want the best rally game get DiRT2 and start jumping! Codemasters really proved they can make amazing games.

Need For Speed SHIFT
We were all tired of the direction of the NFS franchise: Fast and the Furious was long gone and we wanted something better. Shift does just that; it has the roots of Need For Speed with the realism of Forza without ever stepping into the simulation genre. If you wanna drive fast in expensive supercar Need For Speed Shift is the right game. I find Shift to be one of the best franchise reboot ever done.

RaceDriver GRID
GRID is what makes me feel like a real race driver; it has seasons, teams with other drivers, goals, sponsors, real-world tracks and such. When you’re playing GRID you are really immersed in the game world and it’s something that is rarely achieved in a racing game. Once again Codemasters is proving who is the leader in the racing genre with GRID.

Need For Speed World
Don’t expect something close to reality like Shift or something marvelous like DiRT2 with NFS World. Here we have an MMO racing game that combines the best of all of the Need For Speed games in one; cool cars, fast races, customization and pursuits. Best of all it’s free! NFS World is the game where you can pop in, do a few races, evade the cops then quit just as you logged in. It’s the game you play when you just want some fun real quick and don’t have access to a naked woman.

I’m having a blast with these games but the future holds even better Racing Game candidates. Here are the ones I can’t wait to get:
- Test Drive Unlimited 2
- Dirt 3
- GRID 2..if there is one in the works…
Games of September
Aug 1st
- Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2 (PC, PS3, X360)
- R.U.S.E. (PC, PS3, X360)
- Test Drive Unlimited 2 (PC, PS3, X360)
- Sid Meier’s Civilization V (PC)
- F.E.A.R. 3 (PC, PS3, X360)
- World of Tanks (PC)
- Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions (PS3, X360)
I was expecting a heavier month… Note that Halo: Reach is coming out; that might be why the month is so empty.
